Are you a Google Chrome user and want to make it the default application for surfing the Internet? We show you how to make that change in several easy steps, along with how to clear the browser cache and history.
Make Google Chrome your default browser:
1. Click the button to the right side of the address bar that features three lines. This button will read “customize and control Google Chrome.”
2. Click the “Settings” option in the drop-down menu.
3. A new chrome/settings tab will open within the browser. Scroll down to the “Default browser” setting.
4. Click the “Make Google Chrome the default browser” button.
5. The Windows 10 System app will open. Scroll down to the Web browser setting.
6. Click the current browser and choose Google Chrome in the list, as shown above.
Clear the browser history:
1. Click the button to the right side of the address bar that features three lines.
2. Click the “Settings” option.
3. On the new chrome/settings page, locate and click the “Show advanced settings” link.
4. Under “Privacy,” click the "Clear browsing data" button.
5. In the new popup window, check the “Browsing history,” “download history” and if needed, “Cookies and other site and plugin data.”
6. Click the ”Clear browsing data” button.
Clear the browser cache:
1. Click the button residing to the right of the address bar that features three lines.
2. Click the “Settings” option.
3. On the new chrome/settings page, locate and click the “Show advanced settings” link.
4. Under “Privacy,” click the "Clear browsing data" button.
5. In the new popup window, check the “Cached images and files” option.”
6. Click the “Clear browsing data” button.
