This comes from the Geekbench website which shows the results of an LG Nexus 5 handset. Along with the usual benchmark results and hardware information the results page lists the operating system as Android 5.2.
Nexus handsets typically get the latest versions of Android before other devices, so it's not out of the realms of possibility that there's a Nexus out there running a fresh version of Android.
What's in a version number?
What is surprising is that it's running Android 5.2 when Android 5.1 hasn't even been officially released yet.
That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, though, as the very same Geekbench website has also displayed results for a Nexus 5 device running Android 5.1.
If Google is already working on Android 5.2 and testing it out on Nexus devices, could we see Nexus devices skipping Android 5.1 and going straight to Android 5.2?
Both versions should bring a number of improvements and bug fixes, but that could be of little comfort to those of us who are still waiting for a lick of the Lollipop.
